The purpose of the workshop was to improve knowledge of tobacco taxation and its different challenges among those responsible for promoting, developing and/or implementing comprehensive legislation on tobacco taxation. The workshop gathered more than thirty participants from different sectors, including Ministry of Finance (Taxation authority, Actuarial analysis), Ministry of Health, Customs, a local NGO, academia (Alexandria Faculty of Medicine and the High Institute of Public Health) and WHO.
