Warn about the dangers of tobacco: packaging and labelling of tobacco products
Building capacity for tobacco control: training package
Overview
This training package has been prepared by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (the Union). The goal of the training is to facilitate strategic planning and action among those responsible for promoting, developing, implementing and enforcing strong policies on tobacco packaging and labelling, including graphic warnings and the elimination of misleading labelling. In particular, the training based on these materials will assist Parties to the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) to fulfill their obligations under Article 11 of the WHO FCTC - packaging and labelling of tobacco products. It also aims at assisting WHO Member States that are not yet parties to the WHO FCTC to implement selected demand reduction measures.
