    The sixth in the series, this report tracks the status of the tobacco epidemic and interventions to combat it. The report focuses on monitoring tobacco use and prevention policies and includes in-depth analyses of monitoring capacity of WHO Member States, allowing a detailed understanding of progress and future challenges in this area.

  • The GATS Atlas - Global Adult Tobacco Survey
    The Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) Atlas presents tobacco statistics from 22 countries in a visual formatting, using GATS data that cover nearly 60 percent of the world’s population.
  • WHO Report on the Global Tobacco Epidemic, 2015
    The fifth in the series of WHO reports provides a snapshot of the MPOWER measures, with all country-specific data updated and aggregated through 2014. In addition, the report provides a special focus on tobacco taxation and in-depth analyses of tobacco taxes in all WHO Member States, allowing for a more detailed understanding of progress and future challenges in this area.

  • WHO report on the global tobacco epidemic 2013
    The fourth in the series, this report presents the status of the MPOWER measures, with country-specific data updated and aggregated through 2012. In addition, the report provides a special focus on legislation to ban tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship (TAPS) in WHO Member States and an in-depth analyses of TAPS bans were performed, allowing for a more detailed understanding of progress and future challenges.

  • WHO global report: mortality attributable to tobacco
    This report provides information by country on the proportion of adult (age 30 years and above) deaths attributable to tobacco by major communicable and non-communicable causes by age and sex.

  • Cardiovascular harms from tobacco use and secondhand smoke
    This report brings together data from two ongoing major global tobacco research and surveillance to examine smokers and non-smokers’ awareness of the cardiovascular risks of tobacco use, and secondhand smoke exposure.

  • WHO report on the global tobacco epidemic, 2008
    This landmark new report presents the first comprehensive worldwide analysis of tobacco use and control efforts. It provides countries with a roadmap to reverse the devastating global tobacco epidemic that could kill up to one billion people by the end of this century.
