Technical Meeting on “SARS Animal Models”

A technical meeting on SARS animal models held in Rotterdam, organised by the Erasmus Medical Center and WHO, aimed at reviewing progress on the development of SARS animal models and defining the parameters that, in the absence of ongoing SARS epidemics, need to be investigated prior to the start of clinical efficacy trials for candidate SARS vaccines. A total of 30 scientists from 10 countries from universities, industrial companies, and regulatory agencies participated.
The major conclusions and recommendations are outlined in the attached report.
