IVR’s work and ultimate impact can only be realized in close collaboration with partners, both within and outside WHO. Indeed, IVR is proud of its track record of successful collaborations built on the mutual strengths of the different partners.

Within WHO, IVR constitutes the unified entity for vaccine research, and therefore collaborates with a vast number of programmes at global and regional level. In particular, research related to vaccine norms and standards, and implementation research activities, are carried out in close cooperation with other teams within the Immunization, Vaccines and Biologicals department. Strong links also exist with disease control programmes and those supporting technology transfer to developing countries.

With regards to external collaboration, IVR interacts with governmental research institutions, academia, and within product development partnerships, where it is often represented on the advisory board or as collaborator for specific project. Finally, the private sector is an important ally for IVR to accelerate and advocate for product development in line with global public health needs.
