Ms Kieselbach's academic background is in Psychology (MSc) and Public Health (PgDip). Before joining WHO's Violence Prevention Team, she worked as technical advisor for the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) supporting bilateral cooperation programmes in Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe with a focus on health systems development, mental health and violence prevention. Ms Kieselbach has also worked with various agencies, including MSF, UNESCAP and WHO, at country and regional level in mental health service development, sexual violence prevention and care, and organizational development in resource poor and conflict affected countries. She is a German national.
Within VIP, Ms Kieselbach's main tasks are to provide technical support and training in the development, implementation and evaluation of national and regional policies and programmes for preventing intimate partner and sexual violence against women and to advocate for increased attention and resources to respond to the issue.
