Dr Wang completed his training in medicine and psychiatry in China and received his PhD in epidemiology and international health from Kobe University, Japan. Before he joined WHO in 2002, Dr Wang has been working in the area of mental health research, training, service provision and policy development. He was also executive editor and publisher of a leading mental health journal in China. Dr Wang is currently Regional Advisor and Team Leader on Mental Health and Injury Prevention.
