Mexican launch of the World report on violence and health
Government of Mexico hosts event marking launch of WHO’s World report on violence and health
10-7-2003: Dr Julio Frenk Mora, Mexican Secretary for Health, presided over the national launch of the World report on violence and health at the world famous Museum for Anthropology in Mexico City. Dr Frenk welcomed the solid scientific foundation of the Report and described it as a milestone in violence prevention. He announced that Mexico will prepare a national version of the Report for 2004 and will create a network of Mexican violence prevention experts. During the event, Dr Frenk and Ing. Xochitl Galvez Ruiz, Director General of the National Commission for the Development of Indigenous People, signed a convention to strengthen their collaboration.
