VIP short course on data collection focus of training in Africa
From 14-16 August, approximately 20 people from 6 countries in the WHO African Region participated in a regional training workshop on data collection in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The workshop was conducted in collaboration with UNISA, a WHO Collaborating Centre, and WHO, and offered the opportunity to pilot test a new VIP short course on data collection. Overall the course was a great success, with a substantial increase in pre-test/post-test knowledge and good evaluations from participants and facilitators. Some important recommendations for further improvements to the course material were made and are being implemented by Open University.
Once finalized, the new short course will be available at www.who.int/violence_injury_prevention/capacitybuilding/en/.
