WHO Executive Board calls for action plan on mental health
WHO's Executive Board adopted draft resolution EB130.R8 calling for a comprehensive, coordinated response from the health and social sectors at the country level, to be reflected in an action plan on mental health. The draft resolution also stresses the need to recognize that mental disorders can lead to disabilities, and that the World report on disability charts the steps that are required to improve the participation and inclusion of people with disabilities in their societies, including people with mental disabilities. The draft resolution also further notes that mental disorders are often associated with noncommunicable diseases and a range of other priority health issues, including violence and injuries.
