WHO hosts training on road safety for national television journalists in Viet Nam
As part of the Bloomberg Philanthropies Global Road Safety Programme, WHO hosted from 26-28 June a first ever training for road safety television journalists in Hanoi, Viet Nam. 15 road safety television journalists from 6 state-owned television channels participated. The training was facilitated by Ms Carolyn Robinson, an international consultant and former reporter for Al Jazeera, BBC and CNN, with support from WHO country office and HQ colleagues. In Viet Nam, most television channels regularly produce road safety programmes on a daily or weekly basis. The training focused on developing new story angles needed to ensure that road safety continues to be reported in a compelling way and on improving journalists' broadcasting skills and techniques.
