Spain's Minister of Health expresses full support for recommendations of the World report on violence and health
World report on violence and health
The World report on violence and health was discussed in Spain on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. In her address to the media, Dr Ana Maria Pastor Julian, the Spanish Minister of Health and Consumer Safety, stated her full support for implementation of the report's recommendations. She noted, “Violence is a major public health problem. International co-operation is paramount in the fight against the culture of violence. Spain fully stands behind the World report on violence and health and will work on the implementation of its recommendations”. Dr Pastor Julian announced that in the coming months her government would give priority to developing a national report on violence and health, based on the World report on violence and health.
