Planète enfants is a not-for-profit magazine targeted at school children between the ages of 8 - 12 years. This booklet, prepared with the technical support of WHO, was issued as part of the magazine to coincide with the beginning of the school year in Africa. Using the comic's regular characters, Max and Dina, the booklet addresses through comic sketches, games and quizzes issues such as the meaning of road signs, road safety around schools, and the importance of using seat-belts and helmets.

A 5-Year WHO Strategy for Road Traffic Injury Prevention (2001)

Developed in collaboration with agencies and public health experts from all continents, the strategy provides guidance to dedicated researchers, practitioners and policy makers in the field on how to motivate governments to do more as well as how to prioritise road traffic injury prevention efforts.

Proceedings of WHO meeting to develop a 5 year strategy (2001)

This document was prepared following a consultation meeting to develop a 5-year strategy for road traffic injury prevention. The meeting, held in April 2001, gathered 25 international researchers and practitioners from the disciplines of public health, engineering, law enforcement, and prehospital care.

    The "Road Marks" series of five posters was created to promote action on helmets, drink-driving, speeding, seat-belts, and visibility. They were launched to mark the First UN Global Road Safety Week.
  • Road traffic injury poster series (2004)
    Through their striking images and supporting text, the following posters highlight several key facts: the unacceptably high number of deaths, injuries and disabilities caused by road traffic crashes around the world each year; their propensity to strike primarily pedestrians, bicyclists, motorcyclists and passengers of public transport in developing countries; and their enormous costs to society.
