Fatal injury surveillance in mortuaries and hospitals: a manual for practitioners (2012)

A new WHO manual aimed at improving injury and violence data. Although applicable everywhere, the manual will be most useful in countries that lack a formal vital registration system or only have a relatively basic system that does not provide enough detail on injuries and violence.

Based on the premise that access to accurate, reliable information is the key to sound policy-making, The Injury Chartbook seeks to provide a global overview of the nature and extent of injury mortality and morbidity in the form of user-friendly tables and charts.

Guidance for surveillance of injuries due to landmines and unexploded ordnance (2000)

This document, which is concerned with identifying the scale of the problem using hospital based information, presents a tool which, if used widely, would lead to a better understanding of the size of the problem at global level. Such a system could be integrated into existing health information systems and could be used for monitoring change resulting from variations in landmine and unexploded ordnance use and preventive interventions.
