  • In November 2002 a conference was held in Sydney titled "World report on violence and health: the Australian response". Commitments were made for a plan of action based on the recommendations of the report.
  • In June 2004 the Victorian Health Department launched Measuring the burden of disease caused by intimate partner violence. Inspired by the World report on violence and health, this publication is a summary of a study conducted to assess the health impact of intimate partner violence on women. While focusing on health, it complements a vast body of evidence demonstrating the serious social and economic consequences of intimate partner violence for individuals, families and communities.
