Violence and Injury Prevention

WHO statistics on violence are available in a number of formats for the world, for WHO regional groupings of countries and for individual countries. All data are sex- and age-specific.

VIP Department reports provide global and regional numbers and rates of violence-related deaths and disability in relation to non-injury causes of death and in relation to other injury causes.

WHO Headquarters Statistical Information System (WHOSIS) provides region- and country-specific numbers and rates for deaths and disabilities due to violence-related deaths in all countries of the world that return such information to WHO. Researchers wishing to obtain the raw data, as provided to the Organization by WHO Member States, can get these data from WHOSIS.

WHO EURO Region's Health for All (HFA) database includes age- and sex-specific information about violence-related deaths, and hospital discharges for injuries and poisonings.
