The Forensic Psychiatry Research Unit is a team of clinical and academic researchers based across the East London National Health Service Foundation Trust and Queen Mary’s University London under the direction of Professor Jeremy Coid. The main research focus of the unit is on risk management in forensic mental health, the enhancement of the treatment of personality disorders, and the prevention of violent behaviour.

Jeremy Coid is Professor of Forensic Psychiatry in the Institute of Preventative Medicine, St Bartholomew’s Hospital and the Royal London School of Medicine, both in the United Kingdom. He is the Director of the Forensic Psychiatry Research Unit and his research interests are primarily within the area of epidemiology of violence and risk assessment. He currently has a research programme funded by the National Institute of Health Research on improving the risk assessment and risk management of antisocial and violent behaviour.
