The World Conference on Family Violence is being covened in Banff, Alberta, Canada to bring together international experts, researchers, practitioners and advocates, as well as those working on the front lines with children, youth, adult victims and seniors with a common focus on family violence prevention.
The principal topics for the conference are child abuse and neglect, intimate partner violence and elder abuse. The key themes of the conference are focused on knowledge development and transfer, promising and best practices and maximizing positive impacts on victims, families and their communities. Cross cutting themes will include, but not be limited to: disability and violence, family violence in indigenous communities, innovative intervention models, and emerging trends in research, data collection, analysis and knowledge transfer.
