Guidelines for drinking-water quality: First addendum to the fourth edition
This first addendum to the fourth edition of the Guidelines for drinking-water quality (GDWQ) details the changes that have been made to the fourth edition of the GDWQ. Updates reflect new evidence and further, provides additional explanations to support better understanding and application of the guidance.
The key updates in the first addendum include updated or revised risk assessments and/or guideline values or health-based values for barium; bentazone; chlorine dioxide, chlorate and chlorite; dichlorvos; dicofol; diquat; lead; MCPA; nitrate and nitrite; and perchlorate. Additional guidance on risk management considerations and monitoring of lead is provided, alongside new guidance on microbial risk assessment, aggregating multiple barriers for overall water treatment performance and microbial detection methods.
