  10 December 2012 - Miriam Were is calling the world community for urgent attention to the rights of women and children in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

  4-5 October 2012 | Johannesburg, South Africa - 2012 Annual African Women Parliamentarians’ Conference. Miriam Were represented the iERG at the meeting.
• 2nd Conference of African CRVS ministers: strengthened commitment
  3-7 September 2012 | Durban, South-Africa - 2nd Conference of African CRVS ministers: strengthened commitment. Miriam Were represented the iERG and provided a keynote address.
• Health workers: more human resources to improve RMNCH in Africa
  25-27 June 2012 | Nairobi, Kenya - Consultation on Improving Access to Health Workers at the Frontline for Better Maternal and Child Survival. Miriam Were represented the iERG at the meeting.
• Community Health Workers: challenges and progress in Africa
  19-21 June 2012 | Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - Community Health Workers: challenges and progress in Africa. The USAID-sponsored Community Health Worker (CHW) Regional Meeting held in Ethiopia was attended by over 60 government and NGO representatives from six African countries: Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Rwanda, Uganda, and Zambia. Miriam Were represented the iERG at the meeting.
• RMNCH Advocacy Strategy Implementation Meeting: impact of global frameworks and evidence from Africa
  26 March 2012 | Kampala, Uganda - Miriam Were spoke on behalf of the iERG on the interconnection and impact of global frameworks.
• Inter-Parliamentary Union meeting: ensuring achievement of MNCH results
  5-6 December 2011 | Nairobi - Kenyan Parliamentarians met over two days to discuss their role in improving the stagnating mortality and morbidity rates for women and children. Miriam Were represented the iERG at the meeting.
