iERG at the Third Stakeholder meeting
19-20 November 2012 | Geneva, Switzerland - CIDA and WHO co-chaired a two day meeting in Geneva of more than 70 representatives from national governments, the UN, civil society and the private sector. The meeting provided the first opportunity for partners to jointly discuss the iERG recommendations and progress towards the multi-stakeholder program of work facilitated by WHO. -
iERG welcomes new members
26 October 2012 | Geneva - Two new members joined the iERG in October 2012 - Dr Tarek Meguid and Mrs Kathleen G. Ferrier. The iERG is now a group of 8 experts. -
Latin America and the Carribean: challenges and progress in improving RMNCH
22 - 24 October 2012 | Antigua, Guatemala - Convened by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), representatives from the six countries of Latin America and the Caribbean - Brazil, Mexico, Guatemala, Bolivia, Haiti and Peru - gathered in Guatemala for a regional RMNCH accountability meeting. Carmen Barroso made a presentation on the work of the IERG and focused on findings of the IERG related to three recommendations of the COIA which she considered particularly relevant for the region.

4-5 October 2012 | Johannesburg, South Africa - Miriam Were represented the iERG and shared most recent information on the developments in maternal and child health as well as her view with regard to the opportunities for parliamentarians.

Every Woman Every Child high-level reception
25 September 2012 | New York, US - The MDG Health Alliance, the United Nations Foundation, PMNCH, and the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria in close co-operation with the Office of the UN Secretary-General organized a celebratory reception followed by dinner. The UN Secretary-General was the official host for the evening. Richard Horton and Joy Phumaphi, iERG Co-Chairs, were among the keynote speakers.

Launch Brunch: “Keeping Promises, Measuring Results: How Are We Measuring Up?”
23 September 2012 | New York, US - A high-level Brunch hosted by PMNCH, the Countdown to 2015, The Lancet and the independent Review Group (iERG) launched the PMNCH 2012 Report, highlighted a new Lancet/Countdown series on maternal and child health, and the up-coming iERG Report.
