Call for submission of documentation for good practice and obstacles

2014: iERG call for evidence

The independent Expert Review Group (iERG) is re-launching the Call for submission of documentation on good practices and obstacles. These materials will inform and complement our review and analysis for our third report - due in September, 2014. The report will assess progress related to the implementation of the Global Strategy, the recommendations of the UN Commission on Information and Accountability for Women’s and Children’s Health and those of the UN Commission on Life-Saving Commodities.

Topics:

We are particularly interested to receive submissions on any themes relevant to the mandate of the iERG, topics relevant to the focus and recommendations of the first and the second annual iERG reports, and topics related to the focus of the 2014 report.

This year the report will have a special chapter on early childhood development. Submissions are specially welcome on this topic. Contributions with a human rights lens, addressing the right to equality, violations to human rights related to child marriage and the right to bodily integrity are particularly welcome.

Format:

Submissions are accepted in the following formats:

  • descriptive essays, with indication of potential impact;
  • research papers;
  • human interest stories, news and media articles, visual items (tables, graphs, photo portfolios, video materials, etc.)

Research papers should contain sections describing background, methods, results and discussions. Other forms of submissions need to describe the context, methods, processes; and specific lessons, as well as generalizable lessons. All submissions should discuss the potential implications for policy and practice.
