Global action to strengthen health systems. Keynote address at the G8 Toyako summit follow-up

This keynote address was delivered by the Director General of WHO, Dr Margaret Chan, in the context of the 2008 G8 in Japan.
Dr Chan emphasised the fundamental nature of investment in health systems, including the health workforce, as a necessary strategy to attain health development goals. Furthermore she highlighted the links between global health and global security.
