This report provides comments on the pledges made by G8 nations at the 2008 Hokkaido Toyako Summit.
HWAI urged the G8 countries to build on the health workforce commitments they made and translate them into solid commitments backed by sufficient funding and a clear strategy. HWAI was especially concerned by G8 members’ severely inadequate financial commitments to health and the health workforce.
