This report describes the situation of HRH in Haiti before the 12 January 2010 earthquake and its impact on HRH. Haiti suffers from a poor retention of health workers in the country.

The objective of the report is to assess international and local response to the disaster and how far international efforts complemented or made best use of local HRH and whether these efforts contributed in the longer term revitalization of the health work force and functioning of health systems in recovery phase.
