Consensus building workshop on Country Coordination and Facilitation (CCF) and the Planning of Human Resources for Health, Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, 9-13 November
The document "GOOD PRACTICES FOR COUNTRY COORDINATION AND FACILITATION" developed by the Alliance Secretariat in collaboration with partners has been presented to key stakeholders at a series of consensus building meetings. The second meeting took place in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, from 9 - 13 November 2009.
This meeting brings together a wide variety of stakeholders working on HRH issues in countries. All partners have important roles to play within a coordination mechanism to develop and implement well-coordinated national HRH plans and strategies.
The mechanism is based on the Kampala Declaration and the Agenda for Global Action. It aims at consolidating the coordination and facilitation of country action in areas such as leadership, education and training, retention, migration and funding. It also propose a set of good practices for effective coordination of the efforts of local alliances working to improve the HRH situation.
The first meeting was held in Accra, Ghana, from 26-29 October. The Burkina meeting was followed by a third consensus building meeting in Hanoi, Viet Nam, on 22 November.
