Alliance core partners met on CCF country support
Alliance core partners came together in Geneva on 23 June for a one day meeting focusing on strengthening country support through the Country Coordination and Facilitation (CCF) process.
Twelve representatives from key donors and development agencies attended the meeting, including Capacity Plus Project/USAID, GAVI Alliance, GTZ, JICA, Ministry of Health of Mali, NORAD, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the European Commission, The World Bank, as well as members of the Alliance Board.
This meeting provided an opportunity for participants to share their views and experiences on the complexity of HRH issues. The discussions and presentations covered a range of topics related to strengthening the coordination of HRH interventions at the country level, such as examinations of in-country HRH settings, HRH stakeholders roles and responsibilities, or existing and potential roles for international funding agencies.
Participants agreed that the CCF promotes the role of an existing HRH working group/committee or the creation of such a working group where it does not exist, and that it should function within existing systems such as SWAPS, IHP+ and HHA that facilitate collaboration for health systems strengthening.
The Alliance offered to play a catalyst role and to serve as a common platform where development partners, donors and ministries work together on concrete solutions that will make a real difference in countries.
