Universal Access Meeting, 23-25 March 2010, Geneva, Switzerland

The Technical Work Group (TWG) for HRH Implications for Scaling Up Toward Universal Access to HIV/AIDS Prevention, Treatment, and Care met in Geneva, Switzerland, from 23-25 March 2010.

Field teams from 5 countries (Cote d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Thailand and Zambia) presented results from the rapid situational analysis that was conducted in each country. The field teams were composed of an international HRH specialist from the CapacityPLUS Project, an HIV specialist from the WHO Country Office, and an HR specialist from the Ministry of Health. TWG members and the field team members worked together to reach the following outcomes:

  • Agreement on the major conclusions and key messages coming from the 5 rapid situational analyses that should be included in the global report
  • Work plan for completing the global report
  • Action plan for follow on activities that can be carried out both within countries and at global levels to further scale up HRH for universal access and strengthen the health systems in general.

The Alliance will publish and formally launch this global report mid year, 2010.
