Updated look and enhanced features for GHWA web site

New-look for GHWA web site

The Global Health Workforce Alliance (GHWA) is delighted to introduce a new-look design, and restructured navigation for the site as well as a number of new features. We hope this combination of enhanced functionality and usability will improve the web visitor’s experience.

The goal is to make it easier for all visitors—including advocates, policymakers, practitioners, the media, researchers and community members—to find information the health workforce crisis and the Alliance's response through the web site. It will also make it easier to access key technical resources, learn about our partnerships and keep up-to-date on the latest Alliance news.

Several new features include a revamped homepage with improved navigation menus and content sections under the headings 'About the Alliance', Members and Partners, Forum, Knowledge Centre and Media Centre.

For the first time, the site features its own 'Knowledge Centre', which gives visitors access to a host of products on the health workforce crisis developed by the Secretariat, its members and partners. The knowledge Centre will be updated and expanded on a regular basis and will feature increased interactive functionality as the year progresses.

The Media centre - where you can read our latest press releases, newsletters, speeches and presentations and keep informed about upcoming events - also features a new multimedia section housing video, audio and photographic materials on the health workforce crisis.

"This is the first step towards putting 2009-2011 workplan of GHWA into action. We hope the updated site will be a useful source of information and improved communications channel for GHWA members, partners and friends" said Executive Director, Dr. Mubashar Sheikh.

We invite you to browse the new site and very much welcome your feedback. You can contact us with your ideas and suggestions by email: ghwa@who.int
