AYNLA International is the global network of Young Leaders for Healthcare advocating for the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals through Holistic Nursing Leadership. An advocate group of professional nurses, graduates & student nurses, and allied healthcare professionals aiming to imbibe leadership knowledge, skills and attitudes to its members through leadership trainings, capacity buildings, organizational management and other related programs.
Main activities
AYNLA Alliance creates training programs for nursing leadership which includes seminars, camps and conventions to all its members and students. As an advocate group it also create relevant and innovative programs to raise the issues and concerns of nurses such as benefit shows, concerts, plays, caravan campaigns, films and other productions. The Alliance also produces advocacy materials and merchandises. AYNLA also works with different agencies to ensure its proper implementation of relevant programs and mobilizations in the society.
Links to the health workforce crisis
AYNLA networks with government and non-government agencies, media & advocacy groups and other nursing organizations to talk about how to alleviate workforce crisis and plans and implements programs with them as well. AYNLA works as an advocate group and maintains active consultations with its members keeping them actively involve with issues concerning workforce and nursing in general. Currently, AYNLA works with the national government in dealing with the nursing workforce crisis in the Philippines where a lot of newly-practicing nurses are unemployed or underemployed and were being charged exorbitant fees by institutions to undergo “trainings”. AYNLA works with these nurses and stands for their rights to be heard.
