Member profile

Charity Doctors is a newly established independent charity organization. In collaboration with the Poor House in Oslo, another independent charity organization, Charity Doctors offers consultations free of charge, which are expected to lower the threshold to contact the health care system. They believe that many health problems can be prevented rather than treated, if caught early. This initiative is anticipated to generate not only health-related gains but also financial benefits for society as a whole.

Main activities

The purpose of this organization is to offer a low threshold medical care. The Poor House users and other patients who may need it can take advantage of this opportunity. General medical examinations are performed. In addition, blood tests can also be taken at the office.

Links to the health workforce crisis

Charity Doctors aims to provide treatment for those in need and cannot pay for medical visits. Many of the Poor House users are in difficult social and/or economic situations. They claim that health problems in this part of the population can often be overlooked or remain undetected.
