Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) is an institution founded in 1989 in Uganda of public and national importance. It has become a global village that runs on knowledge. While it is true that MUST has been involved in knowledge generation through research activities, there has not been, up till the year 2004, a central arena of pooled result sharing. The university therefore started an annual research dissemination conference that is extremely important in may ways.

MUST has five faculties and institutes: Development Studies, Medicine, Science, Computer Science and Tropical Forst Conservation. A main goal is to select and acquire the best and affordable current seminal world thought to support the diversified academic and professional fields offered by the University and provide general support to national development.
