The Comprehensive Human Resources Strategy and Master Plan of Bangladesh, under preparation by Human Resource Development Unit of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Bangladesh Secretariat (MOHFW), will address the issues of shortages, misdistribution of different categories workforces, gender and skill-mix imbalance, non conducive work environment and weak knowledge base. Emphasis will be given to HRH planning, development, management in particular deployment & retention in to under served areas.

Main activities

The MOHFW works primarily on the following activities

  • HRH Master Plan in line with 6th Five years National plan, Sector wide approach (2011-16)
  • Vision 2021
  • Bangladesh Health workforces strategy-2010
  • Policy Research, Policy options and policy briefs on various HRH issues
  • HRH data sheet published and disseminated, yearly-training, seminar and workshops in different areas, incl. HRH management, planning and development agenda.

At the country level, we are working with the Directorate General Of Health services, Directorate general of Family Planning, Directorate General of Drugs Administration, National Nutrition Program, Directorate of Nursing service, Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council, state Medical faculty, Bangladesh Nursing Council, Bangladesh Pharmacy Council.
