The National Public Health Management Center (NPHMC) is the leading center of health systems research and training in Iran. It conducts interdisciplinary and practical training programs in various aspects of health systems development to a wide range of organizations in health and related sectors, and it is involved in joint research activities with other sectors to promote an active intersectoral and intrasectoral collaboration. NPHMC's center has training and research ties with international scientific organizations, and it is recently engaged in the following research activities: Community Based Initiatives, Human Resource Planning and Project Cycle Management.
Main activities
Health Management Promotion and Support for researchers who work in this field are NPHMC's main goals. This center takes important steps as a training center by being active in educational activates at health management fields. Its programmes are designed to help all the actors in the health system to manage the health services in an efficient, effective and equitable manner. The areas of fundamental and applied research interests which are tied to the identified regional, national, provincial and local needs in the health system development issues, include health manpower planning, production, and management.

NPHMC's programs are being provided at provincial, country and regional level and are mainly focused in improving health management skills through: training courses, research projects and consultations. As a training and research center its goal is to promote health systems performance, through innovation in training and research with a focus in serving society as a whole. NPHMC's training programmes and research activities offer the best opportunity for individuals to flourish their capabilities in the most possible and accessible way. The main goal is to develop the capacity of trainees in such away that they can apply art of management in health systems in real health organizational settings.
