Tongji Medical College (TMC) has accomplished many goals, and is well-respected in field sciences because of innovation & rapid advancement. It is under the Faculty of Medicine and Life Science Faculty of Tongji University, established in 1907, and it consists of the School of Stomatology, School of Basic Medical Sciences, Tongji Hospital, Railway Workers Hospital, and Oriental Hospital. TMC has established key academic exchange programs and cooperation in teaching, research, and clinical practice with its counterparts in Canada, France, Germany, Japan, and U.K.
Main activities
TMC is equipped with advanced facilities for teaching, treatment and research. It established the Modern Intervention Treatment Center for Coronary Heart Disease, the Treatment Center of Cerebral Vessel Disease, the Micro-invasive Medical Center, and a laboratory for basic clinical experiment and research. It has hosted numerous medical experts from home and abroad which has laid a solid ground for the development of medical science at Tongji University. TMC is initiating an over-all improvement of education with the aim to turn out more medical professionals adaptable to modern society by reforming curriculum design and by providing more senior staff to teach the aspiring physicians.
