Uganda National Association of Private Hospitals (UNAPH) is a membership national organization representing, promoting and protecting Private Hospitals and Clinics in Uganda. Its mission is to represent, promote and protect the interests of Private Hospitals and clinics, their owners and operators, and to proactively interact with members, to ensure private hospital sector continues to be dynamic in meeting the changing needs of Ugandans.

Main activities

UNAPH plans to initiate, foster and maintain a consultative, co-operative and communicative approach to dealing with Government, health organizations, media, community groups and the public. UNAPH also plans to be a self-regulatory organization striving to improve the Private Hospital Sector and collaborate with the Government.

UNAPH's goals are to:

  • Take a leadership role in quantifying existing and expected shortages of private healthcare personnel;
  • Protect and advocate for private health workers in Uganda;
  • Engage medical schools and private medical institutions to expand the capacity of health career programs; and
  • Enforce employment laws and regulations that are appropriate and fair for private health providers.
