GUINEA

In the capital city, Conakry, an awareness-raising campaign conducted in French and other national languages took place via radio and television in the week before World Blood Donor Day. The Minister of Public Health gave a radio/television broadcast about the importance of the day. On the day itself, there was a blood collection. In the evening, a meeting and debate took place at the Banqueting Hall of the International Foundation Hadja Kadiatou Seth Conte, with the subject of the problems of blood collection in Guinea. Certificates were presented to voluntary blood donors who had donated more than 15 times, and a celebratory dinner was held for all donors.
In the interior of the country, as an awareness-raising exercise, lectures and talks about voluntary blood donation were held in the regional capitals .
