Two voluntary blood donors received a special mention at a ceremony to commemorate World Blood Donor Day at Victoria Hospital in the Republic of Seychelles. Both had donated more than 50 units of blood. Around 200 other donors were also honoured. The Minister for Health and Social Services awarded certificates of recognition, and in his address to donors, he thanked them for their life-saving activities, and called on them to encourage other people to give their blood voluntarily.
In attendance at the ceremony were the Secretary for Health, World Health Organization liaison office, and officers from the Department of Health.
