The IWA Bonn Charter

The IWA Bonn Charter for Safe Drinking Water sets out the principles of an effective drinking water quality management framework and the responsibilities of key parties.

The Charter presents a framework for drinking water safety, which incorporates the development of water safety plans. The goal of the Charter is good safe drinking water that has the trust of consumers.

The Charter recognises the pivotal role of water suppliers in the delivery of safe, reliable drinking water. The adoption of the principles and responsibilities of the Charter by water suppliers clearly demonstrates a commitment to improving and maintaining the safety of drinking water.
