Adel Abdel Aziz El-Sayed
Biography
Prof Adel Abdel Aziz El-Sayed is Professor Emeritus of Internal Medicine and Diabetes, Sohag University, Egypt.
He is the founder and current president of Egyptian NCD Alliance EgNCDA, an active member of the global NCD Alliance.
He is the founder and current Chair of the Upper Egypt Diabetes Association UEDA working since 2006 and an IDF Egyptian representative.
He is an Ex-Chair of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region of the International Diabetes Federation.
He is the founder and a current member of the IDF Disaster Committee which led a series of diabetes activities in areas with disasters in the Middle East, the most important of which has been the work among Diabetic Syrian Refugees.
He shared the expert committee which produced the WHO International Diabetes Treatment Guidelines which was published in Annals of Internal Medicine in September 2018.
He is a founder and Ex-President of Diabetes in Asia Study Group (DASG).
He is a founder and a current active member of the International Diabetes and Ramadan DaR Alliance, and he is a main author of the first and second editions of the (International Practical Guidelines of Diabetes and Ramadan Fasting).
