Ailin Akbari Javar

Biography

Dr Ailin Akbari Javar is an Iranian health access advocate with a dual background in Medicine (as MD) and Biomedical Engineering. Her work focuses on strengthening regulatory, quality assurance and supply chain frameworks to improve equitable access to health technologies, especially in low- and middle-income countries.

She has led and supported technical projects across more than 12 countries and held consultancy roles with the World Health Organization, notably on the COVID-19 emergency response project supported by the World Bank, and with the United Nations Population Fund, where she facilitated multi-stakeholder collaborations. 

She currently serves as a leading officer at NTPC and also works with Quara management consulting group as a procurement and supply chain quality assurance consultant. She has authored procurement guidelines tailored to diverse health system needs and utilizes data-driven tools to monitor and evaluate supply chains. 

A recognized health sector activist, Dr Akbari supports strategic policy initiatives to expand access to safe, affordable, and quality-assured medical equipment and pharmaceuticals across vulnerable regions. She is deeply committed to empowering the next generation of biomedical engineers and health access activists through mentorship and youth technical capacity-building.
