Biography

Dr Ajeet Singh Bhadoria is an Additional Professor in Department of Community and Family Medicine at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh, India and a visiting professor at University of South Wales in United Kingdom. 

He is a public health expert specialized in the epidemiology of liver diseases, he leads a Preventive Hepatology Clinic, providing comprehensive care for patients with viral hepatitis and various liver conditions (like steatotic liver diseases) and their families, promoting the importance of family screening in liver diseases. From 2013-2018, he coordinated projects at the WHO Collaborating Centre (WHOCC) on viral hepatitis in India, collaborating with WHO on sequelae surveillance, capacity building, and non-invasive liver fibrosis assessment in viral hepatitis. 

Dr Bhadoria has contributed to four WHO guidance documents as guideline development group (GDG) member on viral hepatitis and is an active member of hepatitis C self-testing technical working group (TWG). His research, with over 150 publications in journals like The Lancet, The Lancet Gastroenterology etc., focuses on improving viral hepatitis prevention and care, including HCV self-testing and HBV family screening. His current research projects include a micro elimination project among prisoners, HCV self-testing cluster RCT, study on hepatitis B birth dose coverage, meta-analysis on HBV service delivery (WHO commissioned), usability and feasibility studies for HIV and syphilis self-testing. 

He has played a key role in advocating for India's National Viral Hepatitis Control Program (NVHCP) and then in implementing at national and state levels, contributing in development of national action plan and leading capacity building efforts for healthcare workers in the State. His center has recently utilized drone-delivered hepatitis C care to prisoners.
