Ms Aminata Mbengue Ndiaye
Biography
Ms. Mbengue Ndiaye is a former Minister of Livestock and Animal Production, former Minister of Fisheries and the Maritime Economy and currently the President of the High Council of Territorial Collectivities in Senegal. During her time as a Minister she recognized the need to address the challenges of AMR through global advocacy, bringing her experience as a community development activist and politician. She previously worked as a rural family economics teacher and has been active in Senegalese politics for over 40 years. She has fought for the rights of Senegalese and African women, as one of the founders of the Women’s Association of West Africa, and presented the first report on the progress of women in Senegal to the UN Human Rights Commission. She specializes in peace and development issues and participated in the facilitation of inter-Congolese dialogue during her consultancy with UN-Women.
