Dr Ana Avellón

Ana Avellón is a Medical Doctor with laboratory specialization and PhD working at the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII) in Madrid (Spain). She leads the Hepatitis Unit at the National Centre of Microbiology and is the Coordinator of the EURL-IVD at the ISCIII.

She is responsible of the microbiological surveillance and reference activity related to hepatitis A, B, C, D and E virus, being also principal investigator of several research projects and more than 80 publications. She is scientific collaborator of ECDC.
