Professor Ana Pérez Galán
Biography
Professor Ana Pérez Galán is a medical doctor and currently serves as the director of the Hygiene Institute of the University of the Republic of Uruguay. In addition to her medical degree, she obtained a degree in epidemiology and health administration from the University of Uruguay and a master’s degree in health administration research from the University of Montreal, Canada.
Over the course of her 20 years with the Uruguayan Ministry of Health, she has held various leading roles in the fields of health technology assessment and regulation of medical products and medical research. She represented the Uruguayan Minister of Health at the International Network of Agencies for Health Technology Assessment (INAHTA) and the American Network of Health Technology Assessment (RedETSA). As a member of HTAi, she also coordinated several workshops and panel discussions at the international and regional level and contributed to numerous posters and presentations.
