Anna Kågesten
Biography
Anna Kågesten is Associate Professor at the Department of Global Public Health, Karolinska Institutet. Trained in epidemiology and social science, Anna has 15+ years of technical and research experience in adolescent health with a focus on sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender norms and violence, including measurement of complex constructs. She has led and participated in multiple studies across different contexts (e.g., Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Indonesia, Argentina, US, Sweden) as documented in 50+ publications and reports. She is also a former consultant to the WHO, where among other tasks she led a 12-country feasibility study on the GAMA-recommended indicators. She has an MPH (’12) and PhD (’17) from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and is a Fulbright alumnus.
