Prof Anna Vassall

Biography

Prof Anna Vassall is a Professor of Health Economics and co-Director of the Global Health Economics Centre at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

She has published widely on the economic evaluation and priority setting for infectious diseases. She recently led a health economics research programme informing the Covid-19 response across several low- and middle- income countries. She currently advises policy makers institutionalising evidence-based decision processes that simultaneously assess the economic, poverty and health impact of investments in public health.  She also has extensive experience directing health systems development programmes in post-conflict settings.

She was awarded the Joep Lange Chair of Global Health in 2018.
