Ms Ashna Ashesh

Biography

Ashna Ashesh is a lawyer, public health professional, and MDR-TB Survivor. Her work in TB lies at the intersection of research, policy, advocacy, and practice. Ashna is Vice-Chair of the WHO SE Asia R-TAG-TB, a member of the WHO CSTF-TB, and a member (Principal Group) of the WHO's TB Vaccine Accelerator Council. She is the Co-Lead for the Working Group on Treatment Support under FAST-TB's ReLAY track, a member of the ReLAY Steering Committee, and a member of The BETTER Project. She is associated with Survivors Against TB (SATB), a TB survivor-led community collective that advocates for person and community-centred TB care. She has served as a Subject Expert and member of the Sub-Committee of Experts for Gender-responsive and LGBTQIA+ affirmative action in TB, and as a Committee Member of the Governance and Management Committee for the National Technical Support Unit (NTSU) of the Central TB Division, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India. She is a member of the Governance, Nomination, and Remuneration Sub-Committee of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease Board of Directors. Ashna's work focuses on rights-based, integrated care, social protection, community engagement, and equitable access to preventive and curative care.
