Ms Bousso Niang

Biography

Ms Bousso Niang is a senior biomedical engineer who has served at the Ministry of Health and Social Action in Senegal for more than 15 years. She obtained a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from the Aachen University of Applied Sciences in Germany and an MBA in health economics from the African Center for Graduate Studies in Management in Senegal. She is currently a PhD candidate at the Ibero-American International University, where her research focuses on the evaluation of neonatology technical platforms in sub-Saharan Africa.

In her role at the Senegal Ministry of Health, she contributed to several national projects, including the development of the National Health and Social Plan for 2019–2028, the planning for vaccine cold chain systems, and the inventory of medical oxygen supply and demand. With the West African Health Organization, she also took an active part in the development of harmonized curricula in biomedical engineering across Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Togo. She also has a wide experience in molecular biology laboratory equipment, with a focus on quality control, biosafety, metrology, and computer-assisted maintenance management, and she has been teaching biomedical engineering courses at the West African Polytechnic University in Senegal for more than 10 years.
