Brandon was born with HIV and was started on treatment at the age of 8. He had to go through several difficult personal experiences at school because of the stigma associated with the condition then, and he started skipping medicines as a result.

Over time, the medicines stopped working and he was diagnosed to have drug resistant HIV infection. After that he was started on second line treatment and has been adherent to treatment since then. Second line HIV treatments cause more adverse effects and are more sometimes difficult to procure. Brandon is now a pharmacist and has been using his professional background to spread awareness about drug resistant HIV
